Mom and Dad took me to the Wisconsin Dells this weekend with our friends Corey, Julie, Morgan and McKenna. I had SO much fun!

"Floating down the lazy river is nice and relaxing...."

Minutes later, "I'm bored, bring on the rapids!"

In an attempt to help my diaper rash, Mom let me go "natural" today. I thought this was the best thing ever!

When my Great Grandpa Gerald passed away, Mom and Dad took this plant from his yard as a way to remember him. It looked like it wasn't going to make it. Then, suddenly, a little after Great Grandma Lorene passed away, it came back! Now it is even flowering and is absolutely gorgeous. See if you can find the little green guy on it! (Click on the picture to enlarge it.)

Can you see him now?

Here he is! And may I say, he is doing a great job keeping the bugs off it!

August 14, 2008

We went on vacation this week. The first part of the week we stayed at our cabin then we went up north to a cabin about an hour past Duluth.

It was beautiful there!

There were lots of trees and a mostly dry river.

Unfortunately, as you can see from Mom's scowl in the photo below, there was a dead mouse inside the wall just to the left of the light switch. It didn't smell very good when the cabin heated up.

(Mom is also scowling because the book she is reading is pretty terrible, but she feels obligated to read it since she started it - she's been working on that darn book for well over a month now!)

Another problem, as you can see, is that there were huge windows in the cabin. I couldn't find a dark place to sleep, so I skipped my naps and couldn't fall asleep at bedtime. We had to come home early from vacation just because I couldn't sleep in the cabin.

But the time we were there was lovely. I saw a humming bird outside the huge windows.

We went for gorgeous walks.

I banged rocks together.

And I played in the grass next to the river.

Do you like my hair style? I did it myself.

I used this hand and some left over juicy peach from lunch.

The peach really works well as a gel! My hair held it's shape until nap time.

Uncle Todd came to visit me this weekend!

We went out to Lake Minnetonka and tied our boat up with Aunt Kirsten's and Uncle Brian's boat along with a couple of their friends.

We had lots of fun. We relaxed in the boat some.

Todd went tubing. So did Tynan (middle) and his friends.
I floated in my tube while Trace and Lane netted fish for me to look at.
And I tried to take a nap, but there were so many exciting things going on that I only slept for a 20 minutes while Dad drove the boat around and Mom held a towel over my head so that I didn't have the sun in my eyes or as many things to look at!

Trace, those sure are nice onions you planted in Grandma's garden!

I'd like to try one of those onions!

Out of sight, out of mind (sometimes!).

At the cabin, Day 2

Sure, Sophie, we can share breakfast.

I think I've had one too many swigs from my bottle, someone cut me off!

If I see something I want,

I am DETERMINED to go after it!

All hail the king of the sand castle!

Land ahoy!

Look! I'm standing one handed!

What's in the bucket?
A fish!
I heard eating fish is good for you.

Lane, is that another fish in the bucket?

Wahhhhh.....I want to hold the fish!

Thanks for sharing with me Lane!
